EXPERIMENT 1: Radical Access to Space & Things

Radical Access to Space & Things
Community, gift, resource
Ongoing
How can I support my community by providing access to things it lacks?

The first dispatch

I want my practice to be generative, and generous. I want it to be conceptual and practical. I want it to make use of the resources available to me, and to help connect others with resources. I want my practice to reflect my personal philosophies and values. I want it to help others.

If there is space available and it does not harm anyone to use it, I want it to be used. If there is equipment available and it does not harm anyone to lend it, I want it to be lent.

How can we help support each other, with the work that we do? How can we build our communities, how can we share resource and knowledge?

What makes it radical? To offer resources for free in a capitalist system, without expecting anything material or monetary in return.

Anyway I let a bunch of theatre groups use the space at Academy (Zuppa Theatre, Kick at the Dark Theatre, The Villains Theatre, The Bus Stop Theatre, etc) to work on Booby Trap, A Timed Speed-Read of the Transcripts of the Triangle Shirt Factory Fire With Additional Notes, A Beginner’s Guide to the Night Sky, Shakespeare’s Time Machine, Knight of the Bat, Madsummer, The Villains Christmas Carol, At This Hour, Deepwater, International Waters, Dinostories, ‘Til Death Do Us Part, Coarse, etc)

I want my practice to help support my community.
