How can I work with the land in an ethical way that recognizes my presence’s debt to colonialism, that does not take but shares, that isn’t from a tourist’s lens but from a collaborator’s, that knows the land in a moment of time despite not knowing that land deeply over a long period, and how can I reflect on the extractive nature of my culture?

Being present on the sea floor, drained of salt water, the minerals and the creatures and the stones all waiting patiently for the water’s return.
