How can I work with the land in an ethical way that recognizes my presence’s debt to colonialism, that does not take but shares, that isn’t from a tourist’s lens but from a collaborator’s, that knows the land in a moment of time despite not knowing that land deeply over a long period, and how can I reflect on the extractive nature of my culture?

Running water to tannin-rich darkness, slip over rocks, swim across waters, follow the shore, go to where the stream enters.
