How can I work with the land in an ethical way that recognizes my presence’s debt to colonialism, that does not take but shares, that isn’t from a tourist’s lens but from a collaborator’s, that knows the land in a limited way in a moment of time, despite not knowing that land deeply over a long period?

These are the things that I saw, in the place that I saw them. These are the bits that I noticed. These are the parts that stood out to me. These are the things I was curious about.

How can I work with the land in an ethical way that recognizes my presence’s debt to colonialism, that does not take but shares, that isn’t from a tourist’s lens but from a collaborator’s, that knows the land in a moment of time despite not knowing that land deeply over a long period? What can we do when our time is short?
