How can an object track changes in time?

On the side of the hill – drumlin, a scar of an ancient age of ice – where the white pines grew, now close-cropped, this one tree, not so old, not so old perhaps, stands in front of the sky the sunset the traffic, watching me watching it, every time I go into that building and stand at that window, utilizing the space I am so lucky to have access to for these 94 weeks.
